I can scan using the HP software as well as image capture.

On another location I have just tested another HP scanner. I followed the instructions regarding this download package in order as listed previously in the thread, twice. One of those times while on the phone with Adobe support while they were using their screen sharing software. They've bumped it up the ladder. We'll see what comes of it. Hi Jussi,. There are two protocols available for Scanning on MAC platform:. Acrobat on the other hand uses Twain protocol for scanning.

And probably, your scanner is not able to install the Twain driver on your MAC machine. If it is not present there, please try uninstalling and re-installing the latest driver of the scanner. You can download the latest driver from HP website. In case, if it still does not comes up, report it to HP guys once. Name HPScan. Now there is no way to detect and select the HP device or for that sake any other device.

Select your Mac OS X version:

This has been verified by Adobe support via screen sharing. Somehow this link is broken. This is not the only model to have this issue. Searching these forums I have found that the Officejet has had similar issues. The original poster was a little hostile in this particular thread and the only suggestion from Ravisha was to contact HP because the TWAIN drivers were at fault. I've contacted HP and their suggestion is to use the HP software and that the offer no support for third-party applications.

Reinstallation of software has, unsurprisingly, had no effect. I'm not really in the mood to wipe my computer and start from scratch, even with a Time Machine backup in place. So one theoretical explanation for me could be that the HPScan. It's the only scanner I've had on this machine so the TWAIN driver came from the installation of either the "Full Group" software mentioned previously in the post or from the Officejet Pro A aa installation disc, depending on what flavor of installation I was trying at that particular moment to get this to work.

I didn't ask HP many questions. The tech was more concerned with telling me all the ways I could use their software. It seems like there's a problem with Acrobat accessing the HP utility properly. I have now checked and can confirm that the HPScan. I've got the same problem and I called Apple about it today and they were not able to help. My setup is as follows:. It's an Adobe issue.

I've talked with them on the phone a few times, they've even called me back. Still not sure what's going on. I don't believe this is the only model with this issue either, but there is clearly an issue with Officejet all-in-one machines. This is the driver for the A Aa, which is my model.

It doesn't work following the instructions listed previously in this thread. With OS Now I've loaded the softare above on two different MacBook Pro's and both behave as described in this string. It's possible to work around this, but it's cumbersome and negates the reasons I purchased all this stuff. Here's the workaround:. The scan will open in Adobe X. And this is idiotically cumbersome and annoying. Tried to upgrade to OS x I can not scan from Acrobat Pro. Error: You don't have JavaScript enabled. I would prefer to investigate if there are any "official" methods to work this out first. With a GTK app, it's a bit more complicated since X11 always has to be running in order to run the app. You can even use this script to create an app bundle for Lazarus itself, since it's a GTK app. Just change to wherever you want to create the app bundle for example, the Applications folder and run the script:. Now you can drag and drop the resulting Lazarus app bundle onto the dock just like any other application.

Tip: In the script below, one of the lines is really long and may get chopped off when you print this page but why would you print this page only to type it in again when you can just copy and paste? Here's the line on two lines. Just be sure it's all one line in your script file.
